Mustafe Mohamed Mohamoud

Senior Field Manager - Puntland Somalia

Mustafe has 10 years of experience working with international organizations in Somalia. He has expertise in fisheries development and extensive experience supporting fisheries cooperatives and associations in Puntland. As field manager, he leads Secure Fisheries’ community engagement in the region. He worked with the United Nations Development Program as a consultant for the Office of Auditor General in Puntland and for Relief International as a finance officer. For the past eight years he has held different positions with Development Alternatives Incorporated, and he also worked as a fisheries intervention officer for the US Agency for International Development’s Partnership for Economic Growth project. In addition, he has worked with local coastal communities on an awareness-raising program for marine resource conservation and advised local fishing communities in setting up fishing associations and cooperatives to support fishing activities. Mustafe was also the regional business advisor for Somali Business Catalytic Fund, a World Bank project that aimed to boost business productivity through funding the development of domestic business and technical services and providing a productivity model for other businesses. Mustafe has an MBA from Amity University in India and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from East Africa University.
