Hibo Awil

Program Coordinator

Hibo Awil is a Program Coordinator at Secure Fisheries in the Somali region offices. She holds two bachelor's degrees in social work and human resource management from Gollis University and New Generation University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in  International Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid from Kalu Institute, Spain. Additionally, She has a Diploma in Business Administration from Makerere Corporate Initiative Africa, Uganda. Hibo is a detail-oriented professional with over 6 years of both local and international experience, as well as government institutions working in financial administration, data collection, data analysis, and reporting. Hibo has worked as both a media officer and a social worker. She has received a number of certifications including Project Cycle Management, Human Rights, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Report Writing.

Hibo worked for the National Organization for Women and Child Development (NOW) as a Finance Assistant and Gender Officer. She has also worked with Forcier consulting as a Data Collection and Data Analysis Assistant, Nagaad as an Administrative assistant, Laaleys Company as a Media Officer, and the Ministry of Employment, Social Affairs, and Family of Somaliland (MESAF) as a social worker. Some of Hibo’s hobbies include reading, coffee,  going to the gym, and traveling. Hibo enjoys spending her free time going to the beach, advocating for women’s rights, and spending time with her family and friends.
