Dr. Nelly Isigi Kadagi

Post-Doctoral Fellow

Isigi is a fisheries scientist with diverse experience working with various fishing sectors (and other stakeholders along the Kenya coast and the Western Indian Ocean, with a primary focus on developing research programs that enhance data collection and reporting for billfish species and trans-boundary fisheries. As a Post-doctoral Fellow, Isigi will be examining the causes of fisheries conflicts and transnational governance of fisheries resources. Isigi also works as the Director of Research for the African Billfish Foundation, Kenya. She holds a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Ecology (Fisheries Science) from the University of Florida, a Master of Science in Biomathematics from North Carolina State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Aquatic Sciences from Egerton University (Kenya). She is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Denver and One Earth Future.
