Congratulations are in order for the 70 participants in the Fisher Field School project who graduated on February 25 in Zeila, Somaliland. Graduates demonstrated the knowledge and skills they gained in fish capture, boat repair, and post-harvest processing to the Deputy Minister of Livestock and Fishery Development, other government officers, and key stakeholders. Each participant was awarded a certificate of achievement. The program aimed to restore livelihoods in the Zeila District after recent natural disasters. It ran from November 20, 2020 to February 21, 2021 and was a USAID-funded collaboration between Secure Fisheries and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.
