New Study on Chaos in Historical Fisheries

A new scientific paper, led by Dr. Emily Klein and Secure Fisheries’ Dr. Sarah Glaser, describes how the development of industrial fishing fleets changed the dynamics of cod, haddock, pollock, and herring off the coast of New England. Their research shows intensive fishing pressure made fish stocks much less predictable, posing a challenge to sustainable management.
